Juvenile Trial Watch - Rosehill May 6

Breednet - Friday May 6

The first foal of a VRC Oaks winner scored his first trial win at Rosehill on Friday which saw juveniles by Pierro, Invader, Street Boss and Written Tycoon winning.

In 2016, Lasqueti Spirit stunned the racing world when she set up a huge lead in the VRC Oaks under Brenton Avdulla and just kept on going to win by over three lengths at a starting price of 100-1.

It turned out to be her one and only victory, retiring 12 runs later having never found that type of form again, although she did finish third in the Australian Oaks the following autumn.

Her first foal by Pierro sold for $850,000 to Tim Magner at the Inglis Easter Yearling Sale, was sent to Chris Waller to train for a powerful syndicate of owners and now named Pogacar showed some nice potential on Friday morning winning at his second trial, his first on turf.

Also having his second trial was Vegas Raider in Heat Eight, another promising one for Invader who has produced five winners to date in his first season.

Fire Power had shown potential in two trial placings at the end of last year before being put aside and he is obviously coming up well in this new campaign for Team Hawkes.

A Written Tycoon colt out of the German mare Salamati (Dubawi), a grand daughter of German Broodmare Of The Year Sky Dancing.

Given the staying influences in his female family and style of his trial win, he’s going to appreciate a bit more ground.

The fastest juvenile trial of the morning was the only heat for the fillies, won by Agnodice, by Street Boss from Santoroni Miss (High Chaparral)
