Coolmore Strike Again Adding a Written Tycoon Colt for $1.4million

Mark Smith - Tuesday April 5

A stunning Written Tycoon half-brother to half-brother to Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes winner Artorious was bought by Coolmore Stud for $1,400,000 late day one of the Inglis Easter Yearling Sale.

Consigned by Vinery Stud, the colt (lot 198) is the fourth foal of the unraced Redoute’s Choice mare Gracie’s Lass, a half-sister to Group 1 Darley Classic winner Delectation.

“It’s terrific to have a colt like that go through. He had the pedigree and looks and has been a gentleman all week,” Vinery Stud’s Adam White said.

“He never put a foot wrong, in and out of his box the whole time. It was another terrific result for the farm.

“His pedigree got a lot of the big buyers around, and we knew he was a quality colt. Most of the stallion farms were on him. We knew Coolmore was there, and they are a strong force.

We look forward to see him on the racetrack.

Vinery had a good result earlier in the day when Matt Laurie Racing / ARJB / TFI / Kia-Ora Stud went to $875,000 for a Zoustar colt out of a sister to dual Group 1 winner Miracles Of Life (lot 51).

“He was a sharp sought of colt out of a More Than Ready (USA) mare who is a sister to a Blue Diamond winner,” White said.

“He is a lovely quality colt, a beautiful colour, and another that handles the week well.”
