Million Dollar Debutants in Slipper Lead Ups

Breednet - Monday February 28

Two very interesting million dollar debutants are entered for two of the major Golden Slipper lead ups at Randwick on Saturday along with the current favourite and second favourite.

Greece, a $1.2million Magic Millions Gold Coast buy is one of nine fillies nominated for the Gr.2 Reisling Stakes, along with the current favourites Russian Conquest and Coolangatta although the latter has been labelled an unlikely runner.

Greece as a yearling

By I Am Invincible from Maastricht, Greece is a full-sister to dual Group One winner Loving Gaby, and looked an outstanding prospect for the the Maher/Eustace camp in her two Sydney trials.

In the Gr.2 Todman Stakes, Shalaa colt Custodian is once again entered for his debut after Sydney’s big wet halted the plans last weekend. That may again be a factor this weekend!

A half-brother to Profundo, out of Redoute’s Choice mare Honesty Prevails, Custodian was a $1.15million dollar buy for James Harron Bloodstock at the Magic Millions Gold Coast.

Profundo is also slated to make his eagerly awaited autumn return in Saturday’s Gr.1 Randwick Guineas.
