Kalashnikov and Wheelhouse Star in Latest Inglis Digital Sale Now Online

Media Release - Friday February 18

G3 winner Kalashnikov and progressive 4YO Wheelhouse – plus a Kooringal Stud draft of 12 yearlings all offered unreserved - are just some of the standout offerings among a 342-strong catalogue in the Inglis Digital February (Late) Online Sale.

Kalashnikov is a G3 winning son of Capitalist.

3YO gelding Kalashnikov (Capitalist), trained by Peter and Paul Snowden, won the G3 Black Opal Stakes as a juvenile in race record time and recently blitzed a Randwick trial in a time of 1.02.12 over 1050m.

“Kalashnikov is a very fast and talented horse, as he showed in his trial at Randwick recently and he is ready to go with great upside going forward,” Peter Snowden said.

“I have no doubt that there is plenty of future racing and wins in his future.”

Out of a half sister to Queensland Derby winner Eagle Way - now a top class galloper in Hong Kong - Kalashnikov is being offered unreserved by his owners in the James Harron Bloodstock Colt Partnership, graduates of which include Hong Kong performers like recent G1 Centenary Sprint winner Stronger (Not a Single Doubt), Leviathan (Zoustar), Gunnison (Not a Single Doubt), Astrologer (Star Turn) and Circuit Seven (Deep Field).

“As a gelding Kalashnikov no longer fits our racing model to produce stallions but selling to domestic and Asian markets is a key part of our strategy,” Harron said.

“We are very proud to see the proven record of success that our horses have gone on to have for their new owners.

“Kalashnikov is a horse with very few miles on the clock, with proven Group class ability and speed and I’m certain he will go on to great success for his new owners.”

Wheelhouse is a stakes-placed son of Pierro.

Wheelhouse (Pierro) is an in-form gelding offered by Chris Waller Racing as a potential candidate for the recently announced $2m The Five Diamonds and/or the $2m The Big Dance.

The lightly raced 4YO won the $250,000 TAB The Wave on the Gold Coast in January, before running second in the Magic Millions Open over 1800m.

He’s twice Stakes placed, finishing runner-up in the Listed Hawkesbury Ladies Day Cup and Listed Fernhill Handicap, as well as a 4th in the G1 Randwick Guineas last year.
