The Rochelle Pereira-trained Cabrinella made a sustained run from second last of the six runners in Thursday’s Follow @ipswichturfclub 2yo Maiden (800m) to make a winning debut at Ipswich and credit Aquis Stud’s Jukebox with his first winner.

Ridden by Wendy Peel, Cabrinella defeated Montana Lady (Red Dazzler) by half a length with Hello Angel (Hellbent) a further two lengths back in third.

Bred by Colleen Buchanan, Cabrinella is the second winner from three to race from the 5-time winning Strada mare Gelsomina.

From the family of Group 1 VATC Blue Diamond Stakes winner Road To Success (Dolphin Street), Gelsomina has a yearling colt by Shooting To Win and a colt foal by Tassort.

A lightly raced, high-class son of Snitzel, Jukebox won his first three starts culminating in the Group III Vain stakes at Caulfield.

Cabrinella was one of 43 live foals by Jukebox, who has battled for patronage in the last couple of years.

Aquis showcased five new stallions in 2018, Jukebox, Speith, Invader, The Mission and Kobayashi and all are now off the mark.
