Neck and Neck - Broodmare Sires Bringing it to the Table

Tara Madgwick - Sunday February 13

Since 2018, Redoute’s Choice and Encosta de Lago have filled the quinella on the Australian Broodmare Sires List taking it in turns at the top and the dynamic duo look set to do the same again this season and while Redoute’s Choice has top billing at present, three stakes-winners on Saturday has Encosta de Lago poised for a surge.

Redoute’s Choice has sired the dams of 11 Australian stakes-winners and has a $4million buffer over his rival thanks to the deeds of Group I winners Anamoe, Regal Power, Hitotsu and Profondo.

Encosta de Lago has sired the dams of slightly more winners (201 ) and they also include 11 stakes-winners, three of them saluting on Saturday.

Champion sire Encosta de Lago.

All three of those stakes-winners are exciting three year olds with Group I targets in the next few months.
