Tara Madgwick - Wednesday January 12

Tony and Calvin McEvoy enjoyed much success training former brilliant I Am Invincible filly Oohood and they will also train her first foal, a colt by Pride of Dubai that sold at Magic Millions on Wednesday for $240,000.

Consigned by Segenhoe, the chunky bay colt was knocked down to McEvoy Mitchell Racing/Belmont Bloodstock Agency.

$240,000 Pride of Dubai colt from Oohood.

The colt was foaled and raised at Segenhoe for Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Maktoum, who bred both his sire Pride of Dubai and his dam Oohood, who won the Group I ATC Flight Stakes and was placed in a further four Group I events earning over $1.5million in prizemoney.

Oohood is a blue-blood being a half-sister to the dam of dual Group I winner King’s Legacy from the Singles Bar branch of the Easy Date family that has produced outstanding sire Not a Single Doubt.

Oohood had a colt by Fastnet Rock last spring and was then one of 174 mares covered by Wootton Bassett (GB).
