The Tony Pike trained two year-old Pacific Dragon was first past the post in the recent Group II Eclipse Stakes at Ellerslie, but was relegated to second on protest by exciting filly Wolverine.

Pacific Dragon has undoubted stakes ability and will no doubt pick up much more Black Type as her career unfolds, while three year-old Paper Dragon led all the way to win at Geelong for the Henry Dwyer stable.

Lot 957, a colt by Headwater from Quick’s the Word is a half-brother to talented three year-old Dragonstone (Mikki Isle(Jpn), who is yet to miss a place in six starts for the Mark Newnham stable.
