Magic Trial Watch – Gold Coast

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday January 4

Several key runners for the Magic Millions race day on Saturday week tuned up at Gold Coast trials this morning with heat wins for three year-old filly Lady of Honour and for two year-old colt Cusack, whose full sister will be offered at the sale next week.

The Trent Busuttin and Natalie Young trained Cusack is the second highest qualifier on the Magic Millions 2YO order of entry having won the $250,000 Ballarat MM Classic at his only start in November.

The Not a Single Doubt colt won a trial at the Gold Coast over 900m on December 20 and then went around again this morning over 1000m scoring by a length.

Fernrigg Farm will offer a full sister to Cusack at Magic Millions next week as Lot 792 on the Friday before the race.

The Lindsay Park trained Lady of Honour had a very successful spring campaign winning all three of her starts through October and November culminating in a victory in the Listed MRC Twilight Glow Stakes over 1400m when she led all the way.

The daughter of No Nay Never (USA) scored a narrow win over another interstate MM raider in four year-old Beau Rossa with top class three year-old filly Jamaea in third place after being scratched from her Doomben assignment last Saturday due to the heavy track.
