First Winner for Kobayashi

Tara Madgwick - Sunday January 2

I Am Invincible has another sire son with his first winner after Aquis Farm’s Kobayashi broke the ice at the Sunshine Coast on Sunday with a debut  victory for two year-old filly Midnight in Tokyo.

Trained by Kacy Fogden, Midnight in Tokyo proved too good for her more fancied stablemate Floral Oasis, forging clear of the Not a Single Doubt filly to win the 1000m maiden by a length and a quarter.

Midnight in Tokyo is an Aquis homebred and is the second winner from Orabelle, a winning three-quarter -sister by Casino Prince to stakes-winner All Too Royal from Group I winner Bel Mer.

Orabelle was sold in the 2021 Inglis Digital March (Late) Sale for $1,000 and was sent to Kobayashi again last spring by her new owner.

A lightly raced Listed winner at two, Kobayashi stands at Aquis at a fee of $3,300.
