Winning Debut for $1.8million Record Priced Not a Single Doubt

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday December 22

The most expensive yearling ever sired by Not a Single Doubt having fetched $1.8million at Magic Millions for Emirates Park, Man in the Mirror made the best start possible for his racing career when scoring a stylish debut win at Warwick Farm on Wednesday.

Trained by Annabel Neasham and ridden by Tommy Berry, Man in the Mirror has looked good in recent trials and was sent to the post a short priced favourite for the 1000m juvenile maiden.

Easy to pick in the run with his big baldy face, the striking bay settled off the pace and when angled into clear ground accelerated well to score a half length win over the fast  finishing Pierro filly Paris Dior, who  will also be well worth following out of the race.

He was still green and had a bit of a look around, but got the job done in the end,” said Annabel Neasham.

“He’s a lovely colt with so much improvement to come, he’ll gain plenty of confidence going forward.

“He was very well selected by Shane McGrath as he’s an absolute beauty of a colt.

“He’ll be better over a little further and can go on to bigger and better things in the autumn.”

Man in the Mirror was a showstopper at the Gold Coast!

Bred and sold by Emirates Park, Man in the Mirror was bought by Tony Fung Investments/Phoenix Thoroughbreds and is the first foal of former slick two year-old One More Honey, who won the Group II ATC Sweet Embrace Stakes and is a half-sister by Onemorenomore to Group I winner Vega One.

One More Honey has a yearling colt by Zoustar and has foaled this spring producing a filly by Snitzel.

The last crop of yearlings by now pensioned Not a Single Doubt will be offered at sales in 2022 with 15 catalogued for Magic Millions.
