Stakes Success for Exosphere Filly

Tara Madgwick - Saturday December 11

Former Darley sire Exosphere has been a new addition at Oaklands Stud in Queensland this year and featured at Eagle Farm on Saturday when his undefeated two year-old filly Exo Lady proved too good for Magic Millions contenders Minks Star and Penthouse in winning the Listed BRC Calaway Gal Stakes (1000m).

The Desleigh Forster trained filly won her first two starts at Eagle Farm and Doomben back in October and kept up the good work with a stylish length and a quarter win.

The victory took her earnings in excess of $200,000, but despite being purchased from Magic Millions as a yearling, she is not eligible for the race as connections elected not to pay up for her when entries closed before her debut win.

Forster

plans to give Exo Lady one more start before the filly goes for a spell to prepare for a tilt at the Queensland winter carnival.

“She’ll probably go to that fillies’ race the week before Magic Millions,” she said.

“It’s a nice restricted to fillies’ race.

“It’s worth good money too so she’ll go there then have a little break.”

The Aquis Gold Pearl is an 1100m set weights and penalties contest at the Gold Coast on January 8 and it carries $125,000 in prizemoney.

Exo Lady as a yearling.

Exo Lady was a $50,000 Magic Millions Gold Coast March Yearling Sale purchase from the Glenlogan Park draft for Rita Giltrow and is the best of two winners from Sheza Falvelon, a winning grand-daughter of brilliantly fast stakes=-winning filly She’s a Pipe Dream.

Exosphere stands at Oaklands Stud, click for more information.

Exo Lady is the  fourth stakes-winner for Lonhro’s Group I winning son Exosphere, who stands at Oaklands Stud at a fee of $4,950.
