2YO Trial Highlights This Week

Breednet - Friday December 10

This is the time of year when the two year-old action really starts to get serious with Magic Millions only weeks away and then quickly into the autumn so we’ve highlighted some of the best 2YO trials of the week from Randwick, Kembla Grange and Doomben.

Asteria (2f Capitalist x Athena Lass) - Mark Newnham.

Bought by Laurel Oak Bloodstock for $375,000 at Magic Millions Gold Coast from Newgate Farm.

The 740m trials at Randwick aren’t always the best guide but hard to not be impressed by this speedy filly who obviously has plenty to offer.

Coolangatta (2f Written Tycoon x Piping Hot) - C Maher & D Eustace.

Bought by Ciaron Maher Bloodstock for $280,000 at Magic Millions Gold Coast from the Milburn Creek draft.

Magic Millions favourite after her Gimcrack Stakes win and at this stage looks one of the more impressive prospects we’ve seen in recent years.

Miss Hellfire (2f Hellbent x Peace Time) – Peter & Paul Snowden

Bought by Triple Crown Syndications for $60,000 at the Magic Millions Gold Coast from Newgate Farm.

Second time we’ve seen this filly trial well. She’s entered in the Wyong Magic Millions Classic next Wednesday.

Negation (2f Hellbent x Gloray) – Kurt Goldman.

Another Hellbent that trialled strongly before going to Ballarat for the Magic Millions 2YO Classic, beaten three lengths into seventh. She does look to have more to offer.

Palazzo Spirit (2c Spirit Of Boom x Palazzo Pubblico) - S O'Dea & M Hoysted.

Bought by Jamie Walter’s Proven Thoroughbreds for $80,000 at Magic Millions Gold Coast from Westbury Stud.

He’s a winner of his only start and short priced favourite in the Phelan Ready Plate (LR) at Eagle Farm this Saturday.

Better Golightly (2f Better Than Ready x Hepburn) - Dan Bougoure.

Bought by her trainer for $55,000 from Magic Millions Gold Coast Book 2 from Yarramalong Park.

She’s looked good twice now at the trials and is one of the favourites on debut in the Calaway Gal (LR) at Eagle Farm this Saturday.
