Shane McGrath is taking on a new role.

Shane McGrath has been a well-established figure in the Australasian bloodstock industry for over 20 years having held senior bloodstock positions at Eliza Park, Coolmore Australia and within the Aquis Farm Group.

“During my time at Aquis, we achieved great success in a relatively short period of time. I am proud to see horses we purchased and raced like Dubious, Prague and Anders already finding homes as stallions and of course Farnan, who we purchased and raced to win a Golden Slipper with our partners. It’s been a huge thrill. Whether you look back at Derby Day at Flemington in 2018, when Extra Brut won the Derby, along with Sunlight and Fundmentalist for Mr Fung or you look forward to the future with the likes of Mo'unga and Bruckner, I have no doubt the Aquis colours will remain synonymous with Group One success,” stated McGrath.

“I will forever be grateful for the opportunity afforded to me by the Fung Family and the Aquis Group , they always showed great faith in our selection process, and we have cherished every success along the way. When this opportunity presented itself, I could not consider the role until I had spoken to Mr Fung. He has been incredibly good to me and my family and we have parted ways as friends and with his blessing.”

Shen You Holdings is looking to significantly expand its existing portfolio and will include stallion investment, broodmare investment and a significant racing presence under the guidance of Mr McGrath.

The full-time role will commence in line with the upcoming Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale and will enable Shen You Holdings to form strategic partnerships and seek to capitalise on the lucrative colt development opportunities.

“Shen You Holdings have exciting plans over the coming years, and I am honoured that they have entrusted me to head the company and drive our significant investment into a truly buoyant domestic market.” McGrath concluded.

McGrath will assume his new role the first week of January at the 2022 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale.
