Tara Madgwick - Sunday December 5

All Too Hard is never without a good horse and we may have seen a future stakes-winner for the Vinery Stud stalwart at Doomben on Saturday.

Horses like Behemoth, Alligator Blood and Forbidden Love have taken All Too Hard to new heights in recent years and three year-old gelding Far Too Easy could easily follow in their footsteps.

Bred by Gerry Harvey’s Baramul Stud, Far Too Easy was a modest $45,000 Magic Millions Book 2 purchase for Tresbland Pty Ltd and is trained at Murwillumbah by David McColm.

He scored easy wins at his first two starts at Grafton, before finishing an unlucky fourth at Doomben and then bouncing back to win at the Gold Coast.

Far Too Easy was sent out favourite for  the $130,000 BRC Winning Rupert Plate (1200m) and powered clear to  score a dominant length and a half win taking his overall record to four wisn from five starts with prizemoney in excess of $134,000.

All roads now lead towards the $2m Gold Coast Magic Millions 3YO Guineas in January, with stakes races like the Gold Edition Plate and Vo Rogue Plate likely to provide a potential springboard.

Far Too Easy’s Magic Millions quote was slashed from $26 to $13 by TAB after his Doomben success.

“He’s got a very big future, he’s still maturing but as time goes on he is getting better and better,” McColm said.

“When he won his first start and won his second start we knew we had something nice.”

Far Too Easy is a full brother to Singapore stakes-winner Hard Too Think and is the third winner from Mnemonic, an unraced Hussonet (USA) mare from the family of Group I sprinter Jetball and stakes-winning sprinter Into the Night.
