Eleven Eleven wins $300,000 The Warra

Tara Madgwick - Saturday November 20

Worth $300,000, the inaugural The Warra (1000m) sprint at Kembla on Saturday was won with a brilliant late dash by quality Fastnet Rock speedster Eleven Eleven, who looks ready for another tilt at the big Magic Millions race day in January.

The Greg Hickman trained five year-old was cherry ripe at his second run back from a spell and surged late for Tyler Schiller to win by a neck taking his overall record to eight wins and six placigns from 25 starts with prizemoney topping $2.2million.

“They were humming along early and I was panicking a bit thinking I was too far out the back,” said Schiller.

"But he just kept tracking into it and when I got him into clear running, he showed an enormous turn of speed and he ran them down pretty comfortably."

Hickman has won feature races at the past two Magic Millions race days with Eleven Eleven capturing the $2million 3YO Guineas on protest in 2020 and the $1million Magic Millions Cup earlier this year.

He indicated Eleven Eleven would have his next start in the Listed Razor Sharp Handicap (1200m) at Randwick on December 11, before heading back to the Gold coast.

If Eleven Eleven can add another Magic Millions victory to his resume, he will join Invincibella as the only three-time winner at the lucrative summer carnival.

Eleven Eleven as a yearling.

A $230,000 Magic Millions purchase for his trainer from the Edinburgh Park draft, Eleven Eleven was bred and sold by Ian Smith of Edinburgh Park.

Eleven Eleven is a full brother to stakes-placed War Memorial and three-quarter brother-in-blood to Group II MVRC Stutt Stakes winner Glenfiddich being from well bred import Smokin Alice(USA)..
