Stakes Quinella for So You Think

Tara Madgwick - Saturday November 13

A homebred for Bob and Sandra Peters, five year-old So You Think gelding Midnight Blue posted his first Black Type success on Saturday when surging clear to win the Listed WATC Ascot Gold Cup (1800m) in Perth.

Trained by Grant and Alanna Williams, Midnight Blue was sent out favourite and packed too much power at the finish for another So You Think gelding in Bad Wolf.

He raced clear to win by a length and a half in a dominant performance.

Third in the Group II WATC Perth Cup last year, Midnight Blue looks to be well on track for another tilt at the race with his overall record now four wins and seven placings from 16 starts with prizemoney topping $330,000.

Midnight Blue is a half-brother to Group II winner Demonetization and stakes-winner Neverland being from good producing Zabeel mare Midnight Special, a winning sibling to Group winners Rainbow Styling, Zingaling and to the dam of Group I winner Inspirational Girl.

Midnight Special has been married to So You Think since Midnight Blue was born and her next three foals are all by the Coolmore based champion.

Midnight Blue is the 37th stakes-winner for So You Think and is his fourth in Australia this season, plus one in Hong Kong.

So You Think is a Premium stallion, click for more information.

So You Think stands this spring at a fee of $77,000.
