Summer Stakes Goals for American Pharoah Filly

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday November 3

Leading West Australian owner breeders Bob and Sandra Peters have a promising filly on the rise in Mrs America , who made it two wins from three starts when saluting at Ascot on Tuesday.

Three year-old American Pharoah (USA) filly Mrs America won on debut at Northam in September over 1300m before finishing unplaced at her second start over 1100m, but with a step up to 1400m she was quickly back in the winning groove.

The Grant and Alana Williams trained filly settled midfield before scoring a tenacious short half head win against older horses and has been entered for upcoming Perth carnival races including the Group II WA Guineas and Group I Kingston Town Classic.

A homebred for Peters Investments, Mrs America is a half-sister to Group III winner Dark Choice and is the fourth winner from stakes-placed Dark Miss, a half-sister by More Than Ready (USA) to stakes-winner Cohort and to the dam of Group II winner Churchill Dancer.

Mrs America is the third winner from four runners by American Pharoah from daughters of More Than Ready with the other two winners being Japanese Group I winner Café Pharoah and US Group II winner Four Wheel Drive.

Bob Peters obviously likes the nick as Dark Miss has a two year-old colt by American Pharoah called Dark Missile and a yearling filly by the Triple Crown winner to follow.

American Pharoah is back at Coolmore Australia this spring at a fee of $49,500.
