Three from Three for Snitzonfire

Mark Smith - Wednesday October 20

The Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott-trained Snitzonfire will target the $2 million Gold Coast Magic Millions 3YO Guineas in January after keeping his record at a perfect three for three in a 3yo benchmark 68 over 1400m in class record time at Randwick-Kensington on Wednesday.

Ridden by Tim Clark, the 3yo son of Snitzel made all the running to defeat another son of Snitzel, Bend The Knee, by with the Maurice (JPN) gelding Conrad a further back in third.

Snitzonfire made a winning debut at Nowra on September 19, before a solid win over 1300m at Rosehill on October 6.

“He’s improving all the time and there is a big more to come, “Clark said.

“Every time you ask for an effort he responds.

“He still has a bit of race craft to learn. He jumps well but you have to keep up a bit of work on him. He is pretty laid back and would be happy to flop out and settle out the back if you let him.”

Bott said the Magic Millions carnival is likely the target after a let-up.

“His first two runs he looked a bit new and did not know what its all about. He is showing the benefit of racing and the confidence of those wins,” Bott said.

“He had a few preparations at two and was not applying himself, so we had him gelded pretty early on.

“A race like the Magic Millions is looking very appealing.”

Snitzonfire a $425,000 Magic Millions Yearling

A half-brother to the Group III Gimcravck stakes winner Coolangatta (Written Tycoon), Snitzonfire was a $425,000 purchase by Gai Waterhouse, Adrian Bott Racing, and Mt Hallowell Stud from the Milburn Creek draft at the 2020 Magic Millions Gold Coast.

He is the first foal of the Canterbury and Newcastle winner Piping Hot, a $320,000 purchase by John and Jake Warren at the 2015 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale.

Piping Hot is a half-sister to the Group 1 MRC Blue Diamond Stakes winner Reaan (Hussonet), a daughter of the Group II Moonee Valley Oaks winner Ribe (Danehill).

Following Coolangatta, Piping Hot  has a yearling filly by Dundeel and was covered by Capitalist last spring.
