Personality Profile – Know Them Better

Sponsored Content - by Tara Madgwick - Saturday October 16

The skills honed over many years in training and competing elite hacks for the show ring have translated well into the thoroughbred sale ring for this well-known yearling consignor.

This week we find out more about the woman behind Alexia Fraser Bloodstock.

Alexia Fraser

1/ Where are you from, and what got you in involved in the thoroughbred industry?

I grew up in Warwick on QLD's Darling Downs. I competed in Local & Royal shows on ponies and retired thoroughbreds growing up. I grew up next door to Lyndhurst Stud and spent my school holidays working there, through that and some help from a family friend Leigh Sears I got involved in working at the Magic Millions Sales, it all eventuated from there.

2/ What does a workday in the life of Alexia Fraser look like?

Start around 5.30- checking all the horses and a feed run, treatments, this time of year vetting etc. starting next week we commence yearling prep. The day finished around 5.30-6pm

3/ Who is your favourite horse and why?

Alexia Fraser and her superstar hack Coco Chanel.

I have a couple of favourite show horses, they taught me a lot growing up, one Coco Chanel competed very successfully then gave me my first house deposit when I sold her.

Harmony Rose is also a favourite she was a AFB yearling graduate and just got beaten in a Group One last season.

4/ Tell us about the best day you had at the races or at the sales, and what made it memorable for you?

To be honest I really enjoy a day at the races, I don't think I could single one out.

Alexia loves the glamour of raceday!

Any day at a sale where I'm selling my horses and reaching owners expectations is a good day!

5/ What is your favourite show on Netflix or TV?

Animal Kingdom

6/ When travel opens again where is the first place you will go?

A horse free holiday of any description, will be fine! However, Newmarket or Kentucky would be high up there!

7/ What is your favourite cuisine and restaurant?

I love Italian but my favourite restaurant is Glenelg Public House at the Gold Coast I frequent there a lot during the sales.

8/ Name two things on your bucket list?

Complete my new farm that is currently under construction and going to the Kentucky Derby or Dubai World Cup

9/ What's the best advice someone has ever given you?

Work hard and then work harder.

10/Tell us one thing that not many people may know about you?

I know nothing about car racing but thoroughly enjoy watching Bathurst
