One to Watch – Hawkesbury

Tara Madgwick - Thursday September 21
As a three-quarter sister-in-blood to champion mare More Joyous, expectation probably started high with this four year-old mare and while she will never scale the heights of her famous relation, she is now at least a winner.

The Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott stable saddled History Repeats as the hot favourite for the 1800 metre maiden at Hawkesbury on Thursday and after leading throughout, she kicked on to win by three-quarters of a length at her fourth start.

More Than ReadyRetained to race by her breeder John Singleton, History Repeats is by champion sire More Than Ready (USA) and is the fourth winner from four-time Group I winner Tuesday Joy, who is yet to produce a Black Type performer.

Tuesday Joy is a half-sister to Group I winner Sunday Joy, the dam of champion mare More Joyous, who was in the news last week when her first foal by Frankel, a three year-old filly called Woman, won on debut at Canterbury.

Tuesday Joy was sent to New Zealand last spring and is due to foal to Savabeel.
