Champion Sire Has a Hand in Superstar Colts

Tara Madgwick - Saturday October 9

This season will see the very last crop of two year-olds compete by Arrowfield Stud’s legendary sire Redoute’s Choice, but his influence has never been more powerful with his daughters producing four stakes-winners on Saturday including both superstar colts Anamoe and Profondo.

Redoute’s Choice has already won multiple champion sire titles both as a sire, a broodmare sire and a sire of sires and will be hard to beat this year for another Champion Broodmare Sire title.

His daughters produced not only Anamoe (Street Boss (IRE) and Profondo (Deep Impact), but also Mirra Vision (Lonhro) and Kiki Express (Sepoy), while Caulfield Guineas third place-getter Artorius is also from a Redoute’s Choice mare.

So far this season he has sired the dams of six stakes-winners, the other two being Everest contender The Inferno (Holy Roman Emperor (IRE) and charismatic Godolphin runner Kementari (Lonhro).

Encosta de Lago has also sired the dams of six Australian stakes-winners this season including two stakes-winners from Saturday in Hilal (Fastnet Rock) and Lombardo (I Am Invincible) and he is also the sire of the dam of this year’s Canadian Group I winner Walton Street.
