G3 Success for Dirty Thoughts

Stakes-placed twice previously, So You Think’s speedy daughter Dirty Thoughts produced a career best performance to claim her first Black Type victory when charging through a gap to win the Group III MRC Northwood Plume Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield on Saturday.

Trained by Matt Ellerton and Simon Zahra, Dirty Thoughts had been racing consistently this preparation and was a strong last start winner at Caulfield on September 18.

She slipped through a gap and hit the line hard for Daniel Moor to score a half head win taking her overall record to five wins and five placings from 12 starts with prizemoney in excess of $336,000.
 



“We’ve brought her up slowly this prep and have been riding her a bit more quietly,” said Simon Zahra.

“With a Group III win on the board, she’s a valuable mare and we bought her for just $16,000!”

Dirty Thoughts was a $16,000 Inglis Premier purchase for her trainers from the Phoenix Broodmare Farm draft and is the best of three winners from Sheer Fantazee, a half-sister by Testa Rossa to Group II winner and $1.9million earner Grey Song and Group III winner Tonz More Fun.

Sheer Fantazee has a two year-old colt by Choisir that will be offered at the Magic Millions 2YO’s in Training Sale as Lot 22.

She also has a yearling filly by Kermadec, but no foal this spring after sadly missing to So You think last year.

Dirty Thoughts is the 36th stakes-winner for Coolmore’s So You Think, who stands at a fee of $77,000 this spring.
