More G2 Success for Dubai Honour

Tara Madgwick - Saturday October 2

The Longchamp meeting in France overnight saw talented Pride of Dubai three year-old gelding Dubai Honour claim his second Group victory when taking out the Group II Prix Dollar (2000m).

Trained by William Haggas and ridden by James Doyle , Dubai Honour was sent out favourite and scored a length and a half win over the Godolphin entry Magny Cours.

“He is an exciting prospect and is probably even better on good ground,” said the owner's representative and former jockey Philip Robinson.

“There's a possibility he might go to Hong Kong for the International meeting in December. He could also run in between, but nothing is certain at this moment. If he doesn't go to Hong Kong, we'll see him again next year instead.”

Purchased for 110,000 guineas at the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale by Rabbah Bloodstock, Dubai Honour has the overall record of four wins from eight starts.

Dubai Honour is the first winner for Mondelice, a half-sister to Frankel’s globetrotting Group III winner Last Kingdom (USA), who stands at Kooringal stud in Australia this  spring.

Dubai Honour is one of a flurry of recent stakes-winners for Street Cry’s dual Group I winning son Pride of Dubai, who sired Pride of Jenni to be beaten a short head in the Group II VRC Rose of Kingston Stakes on Saturday.

Pride of Dubai is a Premium stallion, click for more information.

Pride of Dubai stands at Coolmore this spring at a fee of $22,000.
