Juvenile Trial Watch – Rosehill

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday September 28

Only one heat for two year-olds at Rosehill on Tuesday morning, but it featured the 2021 Inglis Easter sale-topper and a rare grey Snitzel colt that sold for $1,050,000 and produced the best run in the trial.

Six runners contested the 900m heat with victory going to Shalaa (IRE) filly Atoine, who led and kept going to win by a head over well held together Magic, the Snitzel colt that topped Inglis Easter when selling for $2.5million.

Magic runs in the colours of Rupert Legh for a big ownership group that includes his breeders Arrowfield Stud and Katsumi Yoshida. Magic is the second foal of Group I ATC Australian Oaks winner Rising Romance and is a full brother to promising three year-old filly Yearning.

The winner Atoine was a $230,000 Inglis Classic purchase from the Burke Bloodstock draft for David Raphael and Gerald Ryan and is the first foal of good metro winner Saturday Affair.

The run of the trial was third place-getter Brosnan, an eye catching grey, who settled at the rear and let down with a great finish to surge into third place.

Brosnan is a rare grey Snitzel colt.

A $1,050,000 Magic Millions purchase from the Newhaven Park draft for Kitchwin Hills, Brosnan is from Group II placed Domesday mare Supara, so is bred on the same cross as Gerald Ryan’s champion Snitzel colt Trapeze Artist.
