Breed to Race - You Can Afford to Go to a Cox Plate Winner

The Coolmore roster might be priced out of reach for a lot of smaller breeders, but they do stand Cox Plate winner Adelaide (IRE) at a breed to race fee of $5,500 and he produced a progressive winner at Rosehill on Saturday.

Improving mare Barossa Rosa captured the $100,000 Midway event (1300m) taking her overall record to three wins and four placings from 10 starts with prizemoney in excess of $154,000.

Retained to race by her breeders, the Tracey Bartley trained mare was having her second run back from a spell and scored a short neck win.

Barossa Rosa is the second winner from Androssa, an unraced Testa Rossa mare from the family of Group I HK Champions Mile winner Contentment.

A Group I winning son of champion sire Galileo, Adelaide is amazing value this spring at a fee of $5,500.

Best known as the sire of Group I winning mare Funstar, Adelaide has had seven winners since the start of the season, three of them metropolitan winners in Barossa Rosa, Torrens and Fu Ni.
