Heat 1:  3rd - Dirty Merchant (c Merchant Navy x Onemorezeta (Onemorenomore). Outpaced early by the natural speedsters but after being a touch green when asked for an effort wound up very nicely over the final furlong.

$150,000 Inglis Classic purchase from Ascot Park draft.

Heat 2: 2ndOkami Miss (f Shalaa (IRE) x She's Our Choice (Duporth)). Showed nice natural pace to sit behind the lead and sustained a determined finish in running second to Wild Botanica, a horse which had the experience of a previous trial.

$60,000 Magic Millions National Weanling Sale purchase from Bell River Thoroughbreds.

Heat 3: 3rdOne Reason (c Capitalist x Otsanda (Snitzel)). Fudged the start and his rider let him find his feet and settle for the first furlong, leaving him clearly tailed off. He turned on a powerful finish though down the outside in one of the more impressive efforts of the day.

$180,000 Inglis Classic purchase from Carramar Park.

Heat 4: 2ndWild Calm (f American Pharoah (USA) x Koonoomoo (Dubleo)). Built like a horse that will prefer it as the races get longer and lacked the early dash to tail out, but didn’t lack for effort when sustaining the finish to get into second behind the most impressive trialler of the morning, Coolangatta.

$350,000 Magic Millions purchase from Segenhoe Stud.

Heat 5: 2nd Zambezi River (c I Am Invincible x Zamzam (Redoute's Choice)). Green between horses out of the gates and gave away early ground. Grabbed the bit nicely into the home turn and sustained a strong effort while looking to have a bit more to offer behind Victory Moments, which had the previous experience of a trial win.

$1,150,000 Inglis Easter purchase from Yarraman Park

Heat 6: 2nd Mumbai Jewel (f I Am Invincible x Mumbai Rock (Fastnet Rock)): Good early pace and responded well to the competition when challenged, going head and head with the winner over the final furlong.

$575,000 Magic Millions purchase from Coolmore.

Heat 7: 2nd Calico Jack (c Merchant Navy x Shrill (GB) (Shamardal (USA))): Good early pace and green when asked for an effort early in the straight. Much better for this experience.

$425,000 Magic Millions purchase from Cressfield, second highest priced yearling by Merchant Navy.

Honourable mention to Master Showman (c Snitzel x Treppes (Domesday)) which was also green around the turn and baulked a little by the inside horse wanting to shift out. The full brother to Champion 3YO Trapeze Artist, he’ll take plenty from the experience too.

Heat 8: 2ndSnitcat (f Snitzel x Jellicles (Tale of the Cat (USA))). Good natural speed to lead comfortably. Looked to get a little tired in the final bit as an impressive winner, Drisana came over the top.

Heat 9: 2ndSejardan (c Sebring x Miss Amajardan (Hinchinbrook)). Ordinary start so was back and the rider kept him together around the turn before stretching out nicely in his finishing effort. Had the winner reeled in a couple of strides after the line.

$160,000 Inglis Classic purchase from Middlebrook Valley Lodge.
