One to Watch – Scone

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday September 7

A Redoute’s Choice colt that was withdrawn from Inglis Easter and retained to race by Kia Ora Stud was a big firmer in Kosciuszko betting after scoring a resounding win at Scone on Tuesday.

The Stephen Jones trained Nadaraja was a $51 chance with TAB for The Kosciuszko prior to his nearly six length win in the $5 Kosciuszko Tickets On Sale Now Class 2 Handicap (1100m), but has since been tightened into $21.

The three year-old gelding was second on debut at Muswellbrook on July 31 and then broke his maiden at Scone last month.

If I had a Kosciuszco ticket, I'd be chasing this horse Nadaraja!

Nadaraja could not have been more impressive today, jumping from the outside gate with rocket speed and crossing to lead before exploding away to win as he pleased.

Bred by Kia Ora Stud, Nadaraja is the third winner from National Anthem, a half-sister by Rock of Gibraltar (IRE) to champion sprinter and Group I sire Starspangledbanner and to the dam of Group I winner Amicus.

National Anthem has a yearling colt by Deep Field and recently produced a filly foal by the same sire.
