Another Frankel is ready to step out for the first time at Warwick Farm on Wednesday.

Tangmere sets the sale ring alightThe sale-topper at the 2016 NZB Premier Yearling Sale when fetching $1.3 million is Tangmere, a Frankel colt bred and sold by Pencarrow Stud from star producer Our Echezeaux, the dam of Group winners Dolmabache and Pure Elegance.

This Pencarrow Stud’s royal family that has also produced cups queen Ethereal and Champion 3YO and sire Darci Brahma as well as Group I winners Grand Echezeaux and Howard Be Thy Name.

Tangmere is trained by Chris Waller and runs for a diverse group of power players including Coolmore, the Niarchos family owned Flaxman Stables and Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Maktoum in whose colours he runs.

He lines up in race three against what looks a very interesting field on paper and also includes a couple of expensive Savabeel colts making their debut in Lord Elliott (MM $510,000) and Kaonic (NZB $425,000).
