Australian Winning Double for Contributer

Exciting young sire Contributer has been quick off the mark at the start of the new racing season and kept his momentum up with two new winners in Australia this week, both graduates of the NZB Ready to Run Sale.

Age of Infinity showed a great turn of foot to score impressively at Pakenham over 1600m for the team at the Ellerston/Zahra stable. The progressive son of Contributer was given a great ride by Damien Thornton and lengthened out nicely for a comfortable victory early in his preparation.

“He’s a nice horse, he just needed a little bit of time to mature. We are looking forward to getting him out to a trip, I think he will be very competitive over 2000m” said Simon Zahra
“He is going to keep improving, I think he can be a good Saturday horse, running in those good staying races in town”

“I really like Contributer, he is doing a great job, I think he is one of the best young sires over in New Zealand” Zahra said

Age of Infinity was raised and grazed on the rolling hills at Mapperley and was sold to Chris Rutten for $65,000 at the 2019 NZB Yearling Sales. He returned to Karaka as a 2 year-old and was sold to HJ Mackey, a client of Ellerton/Zahra.

Age of Infinity is out of the Volksraad mare Speeding, who is a half sister to Gin Datre and is from the same family as Gr.1 winners Dorabella, Media Sensation and Insouciant.

Fellow Ready to Run sale graduate Kaituku notched up the first victory of his career when running out an easy winner at Warrnambool. Trained by Michael Moroney, he relished the step up to 1700m and was able to get a position closer to the speed before surging clear late in the piece for jockey Jordan Childs.
 
Bred by Mapperley Stud, Kaituku was a $20,000 NZB Yearling Sale purchase for Forty Spotting Bloodstock. A return to the Karaka sales ring as a 2 year-old saw him knocked down to a winning bid of $65,000 to DJ Warburton & BR Bloodstock.

Kaituku is out of the Keeper mare In A Frenzy and has a full-brother destined for the 2022 NZB Yearling Sale.

Back in New Zealand, the stakes performed Follow Your Dream came out firing as an early season 3 year-old winning the Northland Breeders Stakes in stylish fashion.

Trained by Kenny Rae & Krystal Williams-Tuhoro, he has some big spring plans ahead with the end goal being a tilt at the Gr.1 2000 Guineas at Riccarton.
