Trained at Lindsay Park by Ben and JD Hayes, Sandy Prince was an easy last start maiden winner at Moe and took a big leap forward when saluting in this tougher Benchmark 64 event over 1400m.

Well rated in front by Craig Williams, Sandy Prince powered to the line to win by more than two lengths in a dominant display and holds an entry for the Group I MRC Caulfield Guineas.

“What I love about the win today is that he’s a horse that has been improving at every start and today he did everything right. His manners were good and he was good right through the line,” said Ben Hayes.

“He’s an exciting horse so he might be putting his hand up to run in some of those nice spring races.”

A $200,000 Inglis Premier purchase for Lindsay Park Racing / Andrew Williams Bloodstock from the Tarcoola Stud draft, Sandy Prince was a super successful pinhook having been sourced from the Fairhill Farm draft at the Inglis Weanling Sale for $52,000.

He is a half-brother to stakes-placed Desert Fox and is one of four winners from Sandy Desert (USA), a half-sister to stakes-winner Royal Med, the dam of Group II winner Millennium.

Sandy Prince is a very nice horse going forward for Pride of Dubai, who stands at Coolmore this spring at a fee of $22,000.
