One to Watch – Taree

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday August 17

Kim Waugh will have a lot of fun with this three year-old son of Vinery Stud’s young gun sire Star Turn.

Turning won at Muswellbrook on the final day of the last season at his second start and stepped straight out of maiden class to win again at Taree on Tuesday as a hot favourite.

Turning raced on the pace and forged clear to win by three-quarters of a length earning nearly $40,000 from his first three starts!

A $70,000 Inglis Classic purchase from the Fairview Park draft for his trainer, Turning is one of five winners from five to race from Miskish, a metro winning half-sister by Fastnet Rock to stakes-winner Nan Tien.

Turning as a yearling.

Turning is the third winner of the new season for Star Turn, who stands at Vinery this spring at a fee of $16,500.
