Another Aussie Interest Arqana Yearling to Sell Tonight

Tara Madgwick - Monday August 16

Another Australian breeder has hopes of sale ring success in France during the third session of the 2021 Arqana August Yearling Sale with a lovely filly from an Australian mare to be offered as Lot 315.

Peter Katelanis has spent many years developing the ‘Mist’ family and shares in the ownership of this Showcasing filly from winning Foxwedge mare A Mist Opportunity, a half-sister to Group II winners Shrouded Mist and Into the Mist as well as stakes-winner Instinction.

A Mist Opportunity was bred and sold by Katelanis fetching $440,000 to the bid of Astute Bloodstock at the 2015 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale. He retained a share in her ownership with the mare winning three races in Australia before she was exported to France in 2018.

Lot 315 is her first foal and she’s a lovely type by a well proven Group I sire in Showcasing, who shuttled with great success to New Zealand and now stands permanently at Whitsbury Manor Stud at a fee of 45,000 pounds.
