Baby Brother for Ole Kirk

Tara Madgwick - Thursday August 12

As a full sister to undefeated world champion sprinter Black Caviar, a lot was probably expected of Naturale, but that success has come in the breeding barn rather than on the racetrack.

When Naturale was born in 2012, Black Caviar was at the height of her powers winning five Group I  races  that year including the Diamond Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot.

Naturale was retained to race by Gilgai Farm, but retired to stud unraced and produced Written Tycoon colt Ole Kirk as her first foal.

He was sold at Inglis Premier for $675,000 by Gilgai Farm to be the second highest priced horse of the sale and achieved outstanding success on the track winning the Group I ATC Golden Rose and MRC Caulfield Guineas last spring.

Ole Kirk was the first foal produced by Naturale.

Ole Kirk retired with earnings topping $2.1million and will stand his debut season at Vinery Stud this spring at a fee of $55,000.

The second foal from Naturale is Not a Single Doubt filly Gimmie Par, who resumes from a spell in the Group III MRC Quezette Stakes at Caulfield this Saturday.

Retained to race by Gilgai Farm and given to Black Caviar’s trainer Peter Moody, Gimmie Par was second on debut to Ingratiating in the Listed VRC Talindert and then won her next start at Caulfield.

She looks well placed on Saturday to return with a win given her cosy barrier four and booking for champion jockey Jamie Kah to ride.

Gilgai Farm Tweeted this image of Naturale and her Written Tycoon colt.

Naturale produced her third foal overnight with Gilgai Farm releasing this picture on Twitter of the Written Tycoon colt, who is a full brother to Ole Kirk.

Naturale might have fallen a long way short of Black Caviar on the track, but in the broodmare stakes she may well have her covered!
