New Godolphin SW from Blueblood Australian Mare

Tara Madgwick - Thursday August 5

The Deauville meeting in France overnight delivered a new stakes-winner for Godolphin with their homebred Invincible Spirit colt Egot taking out the Listed Prix de Tourgeville (1m), the three year-old bred from an Australian stakes-placed mare from a very familiar family.

Trained by Andre Fabre, Egot won his second start last year as a two year-old and was second at Chantilly on his seasonal return.

Stepped up to a mile for this assignment, Egot scored a shot neck win and has now won two of four starts.

Egot is the second winner for Group III placed Street Cry (IRE) mare Entertains, a three-quarter sister-in-blood to $5million earner and dual Group I winner Trekking from Champion 3YO Filly and triple Group I winner Serenade Rose.

This is also the family of progressive staying mare Tralee Rose, who is ended for Caulfield and Melbourne Cups this spring.

Entertains has a two year-old filly by Shamardal and a yearling colt by New Approach.

Egot is the 136th stakes-winner for champion sire Invincible Spirit, who has a myriad of sire sons at stud in Australia this spring.
