His star performer was Llanacord, the winner of the Gr.2 Lowland Stakes, while he also sired the stakes performers Follow Your Dreams, Lily’s Dream and Miss Dixie.

Contributer’s status continued to rise with some exceptional performances in Australia where he sired first crop Gr.1 Randwick Guineas winner and million-dollar earner Lion’s Roar. Previous sires to achieve such a feat include Sir Tristram, Zabeel and Tavistock.

He added another 13 individual winners in Australia, from only 28 runners. The only other stallion on the Australian 2nd season sire table to beat his winners to runners strike rate was Night of Thunder who now stands at €75,000. The fantastic results achieved on the track in Australia has firmly put him on the radar of every major trainer in Australia.

Prior to his first Gr.1 winner in March, the leading participants in the industry held Contributer in high regard and this was reflected in his outstanding sale results in 2021. He started off the sales season strongly averaging $141,000 in the Book 1 sale at Karaka and finished up with a median of $100,000 and a 100% clearance rate across all Australasian sales.

Contributer is building up an enviable record, he is quickly becoming the best proven young sire in New Zealand. On the back of his success on the racetrack and in the sales ring, his service fee was lifted up to $22,000+gst in 2021. Only weeks after the announcement, his 2021 Book was closed which illustrated the strong support behind him from New Zealand breeders.

The future looks bright for Contributer with another quality crop of 3 year-olds coming through. We are anticipating the 2021/22 racing season to be a very exciting one.
