Nick that Clicks Delivers New Stakes-Winner

Tara Madgwick - Sunday August 1

The Fastnet Rock x Galileo nick is one of the best there is and it produced a new stakes-winner in France overnight when the Coolmore owned filly Joie de Soir captured the Listed Grand Prix de Clairefontaine – Prix Ferme Saint-Simeon (1m4f).

The Andre Fabre trained filly was a winner on debut at Deauville last year and was second on her seasonal return last month.

She raced clear for an easy three length win becoming the 176th stakes-winner for champion sire Fastnet Rock.

A homebred for the Coolmore partners, Joie de Soir is a half-sister to Group III placed Villa d’Amore and stakes-placed Rose d’Etoile being the best of three winners from unraced Galileo mare Highest Ever, a daughter of Group I winner Alpine Rose.

Joie de Soir is the 22nd stakes-winner bred on the Fastnet Rock x Galileo cross from 107 runners making for an impressive 20.5% SW to runners strike rate.

Champion sire Fastnet Rock strands at a fee of $165,000 at Coolmore this spring.
