Set to be crowned Australia’s Champion Sire by earnings for 2020/2021, Written Tycoon started off at this price point covering 118 mares at a fee of $8,250.
For the next three seasons he stood at $8,250 and then two years at $6,600 before his fee began to rise with the arrival of his first runners.
Written Tycoon will stand this spring at Yulong Stud at a fee of $165,000, so from humble beginnings a champion sire can emerge.

Third and Fourth Season
These are the stallions who are yet to have runners, but do have weanlings and yearlings on the ground.
There is only one third season horse and he’s Invincible Spirit’s Group I winning juvenile National Defense (IRE), who has his first runners in the Northern Hemisphere this year and they include two winners so far headed by Twilight Gleaming, who was second in the Group II Queen Mary Stakes at Royal Ascot.
National Defense covered 118 mares in his first season here at a fee of $11,000 and 88 last year at a fee of $9,900, which he remains at this spring.

Proven Sires- Young
Among the list of proven sires are three, whose oldest progeny are two year-olds so we’ll take a look at them first.
It should be noted, Sir Prancealot is a proven sire in the Northern Hemisphere and has had four stakes-winners worldwide since August 1 last year including Group II winners Miss Amulet and Beau Recall.
From just seven runners, Rebel Dane has produced three winners including Group III winner Subterranean and metro winner Lloyd’s Crown.

Proven Sires
Stakes-winners are worldwide from August 1, 2020. Overall average is posted if insufficient numbers, three or more, in select sales.
It should be noted Wandjina’s lone stakes-winner was in Singapore, but he did have nine stakes-placed horses in Australia.
Also worth noting, Ilovethiscity covered the most mares of any of these sires last year at a fee of $4,400 and his early good results that prompted this support came from small numbers, so expect an upswing.
