200 Winners for I Am Invincible

Tara Madgwick - Friday July 9

Three year-old filly Pelorus Princess became the 200th Australian winner this season for Yarraman Park’s champion sire I Am Invincible when she saluted at Sale on Friday as a hot favourite.

Second at the same venue at her previous start, Pelorus Princess ran out an easy winner under Fred Kersley taking the 1100m maiden by two and a quarter lengths.

Prepared by Danny O’Brien for Barragunda Racing, Pelorus Princess was a $280,000 Magic Millions purchase from the Three Bridges Thoroughbreds draft and is the first winner from Fastnet Heart, whose pedigree is lacking in Black Type although she does trace back to Group II winner Apollo Wonder as her fourth dam.

I Am Invincible has sired more Australian winners this season than any other sire in history and he’s not done yet with three more weeks of the season to come!

His 200 winners include 11 stakes-winners and have come from 350 runners with his seasonal winner to runner strike rate an impressive 57.1%!
