Is This Your Price Point? $11,000 UNPROVEN

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday July 7

The Breednet Price Point stories have been super popular and are now archived on the site, so will remain a great source of information and reference as we move towards the breeding season and let’s not forget that the most expensive sire in the country – I Am Invincible – stood his first four seasons at this exact price point.

I Am Invincible has been a life changing stallion for all those associated with him proving that breeders on a budget can have access to a champion sire of the future if they identify him early.

That scenario is going to provide plenty of incentive for broodmare owners to go through this price point with a fine tooth comb!

I Am Invincible heads the top Price Point story, upwards of $110,000!

Third Season

Three contenders here and all very different in pedigree and race performance profile.

We have Jungle Cat (IRE), a dual Group I winning sprinter by Iffraaj, that raced for Godolphin and won one of his Group I races here in Australia claiming the Group I MRC Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes (1400m).

Also the Gooree Stud bred top class More Than Ready (USA) son Prized Icon, winner of the Group I ATC Champagne Stakes (1600m) at two and Group I VRC Victoria Derby (2500m) at three.

Rounding out the trio is Group II MVRC Stutt Stakes (1600m) winner Showtime, who was also twice placed in G1 WFA sprints and was a $1.1million Magic Millions yearling by champion sire Snitzel.

Fourth Season

Two contenders here in fertility troubled Menari, a brilliant Group II winning son of Snitzel and Overshare, a Group III winning son of champion sire I Am Invincible.

Menari had just 19 foals in his first crop and 26 in his second, so numbers wise it’s going to be tough for him to be a commercial success, but given the results this season of Newgate Farm’s other fertility problem child Extreme Choice, you can see why they are persevering.
