Darren and Elizabeth Dance’s Esker Lodge presented just three colts at this sale and achieved stunning success when selling all three at an average $138,333, a sum far above the sale average of $40,202.

Their top seller was a top class colt by Swettenham Stud’s Toronado (IRE) from young Foxwedge mare Foxlago that sold for $210,000 to Binalong Bloodstock.

Before the sale, Darren Dance was optimistic about his draft with his assessment of the Toronado colt proving to be right on the money.

“Toronado is the pin-up boy in Victoria at the moment as a sire. This colt is a really good specimen, and he will be popular at the sales. He is a lovely colt, good sized and a tremendous walker who just lopes along,” said Dance, whose judgement was well and truly vindicated.

Cathy Hains’ Burnewang North is renowned for bringing a quality product to his sale with past drafts including this season’s Karaka Million and Group I winning two year-old On the Bubbles as well as Group II winning three year-old Need I Say More.

They sold six weanlings at an average $109,167 with their top seller a So You Think colt from Babel that was bought by Rothwell Park for $160,000.

They sold the Deep Field colt from Passarelle to Hunter Valley Bloodstock for $290,000 and the Written Tycoon filly from Chakvetadze to Sheamus Mills Bloodstock for $225,000.
