First Win for Frankel Sister

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday June 30

Earlier this year Juddmonte Farms suffered a painful blow when losing their star broodmare Kind, who died at age 20 of foaling complications after delivering a colt by Kingman.

The celebrated broodmare featured overnight when her three year-old Galileo filly Chiasma broke the ice at Kempton Park.

Ridden by Frankie Dettori and trained by John and Thady Gosden, the full sister to Frankel was having her third start in a 1m4f novice event and forged clear to win by two lengths.

Placed at her first two runs this year at Sandown and Goodwood, Chiasma should take good confidence from this victory.

Chiasma becomes the sixth winner from seven foals to race out of Kind and is not only a sibling to world champion racehorse and sire Frankel, but also to triple Group I winner Noble Mission, Group III winner Bullet Train and Group III winner Joyeuse, who is the only other filly from Kind.

The last foal from Kind is the Kingman colt born this year, whose future will be watched closely as it unfolds.
