Bridget Grylls was a leading apprentice in Brisbane when she moved from New Zealand in 2014 and has ridden 123 winners since.

She is from a famous New Zealand racing family of jockeys including her grandfather Johnny Grylls, father Gary Grylls and brother Craig Grylls.

Grylls has been in good form lately winning races at Doomben, Gold Coast, Kilcoy, Ipswich and Beaudesert.

"A few of the horses I have been riding for (trainer) John Meagher are in Victoria and he asked me to come down for a look," Grylls said.

"At this stage I am going for a look and will only stay a few weeks. I will have to weigh things up then."

Grylls has ridden in Sydney but is yet to have a mount in Victoria.

"I am looking forward to it as Victoria is a great racing centre," she said.

Meagher, the trainer of 1985 Melbourne Cup winner What A Nuisance, began in Victoria before establishing a successful stable in Singapore.

He returned to Australia in 2012 and set up in Brisbane and recently opened a satellite stable on the Mornington Peninsula.
