Andrew Baddock Departs Gooree Stud for a New Partnership

Media Release - Wednesday June 16

A friendship of nearly 40 years, generations of combined experience and a combined honour roll of winners and home bred stallions too long to list, is to become a new working partnership in the new season.

Long term Gooree Park Stud Manager Andrew Baddock has announced his departure from the famed Mudgee nursery after nearly 36 years.

Andrew Baddock is departing Gooree Park Stud for a partnership at Edinglassie Stud.

Andrew, along with his partner Natasha Ackland, will be teaming up with Mick and Michelle Talty in running another famed nursery in Edinglassie Stud at Muswellbrook.

“I have been at Gooree for the majority of my working life and have loved every minute of it. I am very proud of the success the farm has achieved over many years,” said Baddock.

“I will be forever grateful to the Cojuangco family for the opportunities they have given me and I have so many great memories, but the offer to team up with lifetime friends Mick, Michelle and the team at Edinglassie was a once in a lifetime opportunity.

“The success Edinglassie has achieved over the last 30 years and the respect the farm has in the industry is testament to the hard work ability and commitment of Mick and Michelle.”

Edinglassie is a proven source of Group I winners including Shooting to Win and current leading sire Deep Field.

“Really there are a lot of similarities in the success of both farms over the years and I can only see positives going forward in us joining forces in what is similar to the training partnerships that have become the norm with racehorse trainers in the last few years,” Baddock said.

“You never stop learning in this game. Tash and I go to Edinglassie looking forward to the new challenge that lies ahead and how our combined experience can only be of benefit to the valued clients at Edinglassie.”

Mick Talty added; “Andrew and I have been friends for over 40 years and the experience we both have to offer can only benefit the farm moving forward.”

Andrew added that it will be business as usual at Gooree who are open for outside business and a new Manager will be announced in the near future.
