Winx Has a Baby Sister

Peter O'Brien of Segenhoe Thoroughbreds has Tweeted the happy news that Vegas Showgirl, the dam of superstar Winx, safely delivered a filly by Exceed and Excel last night.

Owned by Fairway Thoroughbreds, 15 year-old Vegas Showgirl has found fame and fortune as the dam of the world's best racehorse Winx, the winner of 24 of 30 starts and some $13.4 million in prizemoney.

This filly is the seventh foal from Vegas Showgirl, who has had two foals to race, the other being Group III winning Snitzel entire El Divino.

Another Snitzel colt from Vegas Showgirl topped the 2016 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale when fetching $2.3million. Named Boulder City, the three year-old colt is yet to either trial or race.
