Dazzling Start to MM Broodmare Sale

The first few hours of the Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale on Tuesday produced some fireworks with New Zealand superstar and 14 time Group I winner Melody Belle selling for $2.6million, while quality Group II winner Mizzy fetched $2.2million.

Two time New Zealand Horse of the Year Melody Belle was offered in the Blue Sky Premium Consignment and bought by the Written Tycoon Syndicate so will visit the champion sire at Yulong Stud this spring for her first covering.

The daughter of Commands was bought by David Ellis from the 2016 Karaka Book 1 Sale for just $57,500 and has been a sensation for her owners the Fortuna Melody Belle Syndicate winning 19 races and over $4million in prizemoney providing a fairytale result.
 



The Anthony Cummings trained Mizzy was offered as a racing and breeding prospect in the Newgate Consignment and was bought by Tom Magnier.
 



A multiple Group II winner and multiple Group I placed, Mizzy has won over $1.6million

Mizzy was originally bought by her trainer for $200,000 from the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale, so has proven an amazing investment!
