Juvenile Trial Watch – Rosehill

Tara Madgwick - Friday May 21

The Rosehill barrier trials on Friday morning featured five juvenile winners including two by champion sire Snitzel that were both trialling for the first time.

The Aquis colours were carried by the Gerald Ryan and Sterling Alexious trained Garmish, who settled off the pace and hit the line hard under a hold to win his 895m heat by more than a length for Brenton Avdulla.

Garmish as a yearling.

A $450,000 Magic Millions purchase from the Arrowfield draft for Aquis Farm/Gerald Ryan, Garmish is a brother to good Sydney metro winner Vitesse and is from blue blooded import Sananda (IRE), a winning half-sister by Anabaa to Champion 3YO Filly Sarafina and two other stakes-winners.

Given the classic stamina through his female family, it’s not hard to think Garmish has the makings of a very nice three year-old for next season.

Other heat winners were: Honey Dew (Headwater), Hinson (Snitzel), Caiola (Pride of Dubai) and Celtic Harp (No Nay Never( USA).
