Timely Win for Éclair Sunrise

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday May 19

Co-bred and sold by Yarraman Park, Éclair Sunrise became the latest two year-old winner for champion sire Fastnet Rock when winning easily at Ballarat on Wednesday bringing timely pedigree updates for her half-brother and dam, who will sell at the Gold Coast in coming weeks.

The Dan O’Sullivan trained Éclair Sunrise finished last at her only previous run in February earlier this year and was spelled straight after, but was a different filly this time around.

She jumped well for Will Price and found the lead on the fence, travelling smoothly all the way in the heavy ground to coast home and win the 1200m open juvenile event by nearly two lengths.

A $480,000 Magic Millions purchase from the Yarraman Park draft for Philip Stokes Racing/Thomas Li, Sunrise is the second winner from Group II placed I Am Invincible mare Tetsuko, who is notable as being the first starter for I Am Invincible when she finished second in the Listed ATC Gimcrack Stakes in 2013.

Eclair Sunrise was a $480,000 Magic Millions purchase.

Tetsuko was also placed in the Group II ATC Sweet Embrace Stakes and is a half-sister to the dams of South African Group I winner Entisaar and stakes-winner Mizlecki being from stakes-winner Magdalena.

Tetsuko will be offered by Yarraman Park in the Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale as Lot 1084 and is in foal to Written Tycoon.

Tetsuko will be offered at MM National as Lot 1084, click to see her page.

Yarraman Park will also offer the yearling Snitzel colt from Tetsuko in the Magic Millions National Yearling Sale as Lot 1598.

Lot 1598 is the yearling half-brother to Eclair Sunrise - click to see his page.

Éclair Sunrise is the eighth two year-old winner this season for Coolmore's champion sire Fastnet Rock, who is having a great run with his juveniles who include stakes-winners O”President, Acrobat and Sneaky Five.
