New Stakes-Winner a G1 Prospect for Brazen Beau

Tara Madgwick - Sunday May 16

Fresh from  siring Midland to win the $300,000 Inglis Guineas at Rosehill on Saturday, Brazen Beau added another new stakes-winner to his tally overnight when three year-old gelding Logo Hunter won the Listed Sole Power Sprint (5f) at Naas.

Trained by Michael Browne and ridden by Seamie Hefferna, Logo Hunter has been racing in good form this year and scored a dominant four and a quarter length win taking his overall record to three wins and four placings from seven starts.

Logo Hunter was bought from the Tattersalls Horses in Training Sale last year for just 5,000 guineas after placing in his first two starts for Ger Lyons.

His new trainer Michael Brown was delighted with Logo Hunter  and has high hopes going forward.

"I couldn’t describe the feeling. It’s unreal. Seamie was adamant the whole time that he was a Group 1 sprinter and he’s right. I was doubtful with all the rain, but Seamie told me to run him,” said Browne.

"There is a race at Cork [the Listed Midsummer Sprint on June 9] and he’ll probably go for that now. I’d like to have run him in the Commonwealth Cup at Ascot, but he can’t go there as he’s a gelding.

"Five furlongs is his trip though and he’ll be a lot better on better ground. He doesn’t need any work, we just keep him fresh. Unfortunately he’ll probably be sold but he’s given me some thrill up to now."

Logo Hunter is the 13th stakes-winner for Brazen Beau and is a half-brother to stakes-winner Darkanna being from Group II placed Jadana.

Brazen Beau stands at Darley Victoria at a fee of $49,500.
