Juvenile Trial Watch – Rosehill

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday May 11

There were five heats for juveniles at Rosehill on Tuesday morning with some big margin winners including a filly by Zoustar and a colt by Deep Field.

The Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott trained filly Bright Flight was having her first trial this year following an unplaced attempt last year behind quality fillies Cerda and Four Moves Ahead.

She led all the way for Rachel King and won by eight lengths with ears pricked covering the 900m in 55.66 seconds.

A $600,000 Magic Millions purchase for  Paul Moroney Bloodstock/Go Bloodstock from the Lime Country Thoroughbreds draft, Bright Flight is a half-sister to Group III placed Home Made being from stakes-winner Gliding, a half-sister to five time Group I winning $4million earner Eremein.

Running significantly quicker time was Deep Field colt Sacred Field, who was having his first trial and blitzed the opposition to win by more than five lengths in 54.29 seconds.

Trained by Team Hawkes and ridden by Jay Ford, Sacred Field looked a natural runner.

Sacred Field is a flashy chestnut that is easy to spot!

A $200,000 Magic Millions purchase for Darby Racing/De Burgh Equine from the Rheinwood Pastoral draft, Sacred Field is the first foal from Rites of Spring, an unraced daughter of dual Group I winning miler Sacred Choice.

Other heat winners were: River Bobo (Shalaa (IRE), Montenegro (I Am Invincible) and Brechen (Capitalist).
